LVI Associates is seeking a CAD Technician to support estimating, preconstruction, and project operations on Northwest Florida infrastructure projects based in Pensacola. You will draft site plans, grading plans, and earthwork models, while assisting with quantity takeoffs and plan reviews.

The role emphasizes coordinating with engineers, surveyors, and project managers, maintaining CAD files, and ensuring accuracy across project documentation in a fast-paced civil construction environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CAD drafting experience in heavy civil construction, land development, transportation, utilities, or related industries.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience interpreting construction plans, specifications, and survey data.
• Understanding of grading, drainage, utility, roadway, or sitework construction.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Associate's degree or technical training in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and modify construction drawings, site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and earthwork models.
• Assist estimating and project management teams with quantity takeoffs and plan reviews.
• Develop and maintain CAD files, as-built drawings, and project documentation.
• Create surfaces, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections from survey and design data.
• Review plans and specifications for constructability and coordination.
• Support machine control modeling and GPS-guided earthwork systems.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, superintendents, and project managers throughout project execution.
• Maintain drawing standards and ensure accuracy across all project files.

Education

Associates degree or technical training in CAD Drafting

Strong technical drafting skills
