Job summary

Gerhart is seeking Field Service Technicians with experience in industrial weighing equipment or mechanical background to join our team in New York. You will perform on-site calibrations, troubleshoot equipment, and interact professionally with customers while reporting progress to the Team Leader.

The role requires flexibility for overtime, a general mechanical/electrical background, and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• Candidate must be willing to work overtime.
• General mechanical or electrical background required.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and safe driving record; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site calibrations of weighing and material handling systems.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
• Mechanically troubleshoot, identify, and diagnose malfunctions and repair weighing equipment.
• Interact with customers; review and communicate tasks, call status, and service reports with the customer and Team Leader.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform thorough on‑site calibrations of weighing and material handling systems
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment
  
• Ability to mechanically troubleshoot, identify, and diagnose malfunctions and repair weighing equipment
• Interact in a professional manner with customers. Review and communicate your scheduled task, call status, and service reports with the customer and Team Leader

What You Bring:

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• General mechanical or electrical background
• Customer‑focused mindset and a self‑starter attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions (heat, cold, dust, and dirt)
  
• Familiarity with industrial service tools; welding experience is a plus
• Basic understanding of 120VAC/DC wiring
• Strength, stamina, and willingness to bend, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs safely
  
• Maintain valid Drivers license and safe driving record
• CDL preferred
