Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This technician installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems in commercial and/or residential settings, including ductwork, equipment, and related components. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work complies with safety codes and company standards. The role involves collaborating with project managers, plumbers, and electricians, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with clients and team members about system performance and required repairs. The technician is expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, use tools and equipment properly, and support CFI Mechanical’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and performance issues.
• Knowledge of plumbing practices related to HVAC and mechanical systems, including piping, fittings, and drainage.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, filter changes, and routine service on HVAC equipment.
• Understanding of electricity and electrical systems in HVAC applications, including wiring, controls, and safety procedures.
• Relevant EPA certification for handling refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Previous experience as an HVAC technician or in a related mechanical trade, preferably in construction or commercial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation manuals.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
• Effective communication skills, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade school in HVAC or mechanical systems is preferred.
