Job summary

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience with installation, maintenance & repair of A/C, ventilation and heating units.
• Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilation, and cooling units.
• Diagnoses and repairs electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
• Understands company pricing and generates appropriate customer invoice at job site.
• Reads and accurately interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
• Accurately tracks incoming inventory and documents all installed equipment upon arrival.
• Carries out preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipment.
• Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, and/or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Obtains customer signature at completion of job. Obtains correct customer information including email address.
• Maintains proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
• Diagnoses diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct the issue.
• Identifies and reports potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services).
• Orders Freon and necessary gases according to regulatory compliance standards.
• Handles, disposes and repairs refrigerants without causing problems in the environment.
• Readily supplies new installation needs as designed by others or by performing the necessary design calculations to properly size the system.

The HVAC Technician provides installation, preventative care and repairs for HVAC systems. Repairs and maintains refrigerator and electrical systems and their components, as well as troubleshoots electrical systems and writes schematics for their work locations. The HVAC Technician is proactive in the timely completion of preventative maintenance of all equipment.
