Job summary

Rainwater Mechanical is seeking a Heating Air Conditioning Technician for a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Worth, TX. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including rooftop units, and interact with customers on-site to explain findings and recommended solutions.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with installations and replacements, and ensure accurate service documentation while traveling to customer locations within the service

Role Description

The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Worth, TX. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including rooftop units and related equipment. Day-to-day tasks include performing AC repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, assisting with system installations and replacements, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of all systems. The technician will interact with customers on-site, provide clear explanations of findings and recommended solutions, and complete service documentation accurately. This role may require driving to customer locations within the service area, working in various commercial environments, and responding to occasional urgent service calls.

Qualifications

• Some technical skills in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Working knowledge of electricity and electrical components related to HVAC equipment.
• Basic plumbing skills relevant to HVAC systems, condensate lines, and related infrastructure.
• EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Previous experience as an HVAC technician in commercial settings preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for travel to customer sites.
• Strong communication skills, professional customer service, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to work in varied conditions, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working on rooftops.
• Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or certification in HVAC technology is beneficial.
