Job summary

OMG Inc. is a leading manufacturer based in western Massachusetts and seeks a Heat Treat Machine Operator to join the Manufacturing team. You will set up machines, run heat treat processes, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications in a safe, efficient environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and preferred experience in heat treat or furnace operation. You will perform routine maintenance, document results, and work with others to maintain quality during production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in heat treat or furnace operation preferred.
• Able to use standard tools and measurement devices.
• Interprets safety instructions, blueprints, and quality specs.
• Strong math and mechanical reasoning.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Team player with time management skills.
• Positive attitude and sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
• Set up machine, observe operation, and inspect first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Read blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as wire type, dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be run.
• Select, enter, and adjust specified heat treat recipes to conform to production run sheet and feed rates.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.
• Observe all safety rules.
• Perform routine and preventative machine maintenance.
• Assist other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
• Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
