Job summary

OMG Inc. in Agawam, MA is seeking a Heat Treat Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up machines, monitor operations, and ensure parts meet specifications for heat treatment processes.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints and job orders, entering and adjusting heat treat recipes, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while adhering to all safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in heat treat or furnace operation preferred.
• Capable of using standard tools and measurement devices such as hardness testers.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math and mechanical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
• Set up machine, observe operation, and inspect first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Read blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as wire type, dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be run.
• Select, enter, and adjust specified heat treat recipes to conform to production run sheet and feed rates.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.
• Observe all safety rules.
• Perform routine and preventative machine maintenance.
• Assist other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
• Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
