Job summary

OMG Roofing Products in western Massachusetts is seeking a Heat Treat Machine Operator to produce world-class fasteners using safe operating techniques and lean manufacturing principles.

You will set up and monitor heat treat equipment, read blueprints, adjust recipes, perform routine maintenance, and support a clean, organized work area while prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications.
• Operate heat treat machinery with attention to safety and quality.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to lean manufacturing principles and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
• Set up machine, observe operation, and inspect first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Read blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as wire type, dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be run.
• Select, enter, and adjust specified heat treat recipes to conform to production run sheet and feed rates.
• Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.
• Observe all safety rules.
• Perform routine and preventative machine maintenance.
• Assist other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
• Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Heat Treat Machine Operators produce world class fasteners for OMG using safe machine operating techniques and effective lean manufacturing principles.
