Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Heat Treat Manufacturing Process Improvement Co-Op in Houston to support Engineering and Production.

The intern will study workflow at the Aerocraft Heat Treat facility, heat treatment trays, tooling, and the Brinell testing process, with a focus on cost reduction, efficiency, and resource management. Responsibilities include designing flow diagrams, evaluating current state processes, and beginning implementation of improvements.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with data analysis and process improvement projects is a plus.
• Prior internship or co-op experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth studies on assigned processes to understand current state workflow and specifications.
• Develop flow diagrams and provide recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Participate in implementing proposed improvements and automation opportunities.
