Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) in Houston, TX, invites a Co-op Manufacturing Process Improvement Intern to support Engineering and Production at the Aerocraft Heat Treat facility.

You will study workflow, material movement, and tooling to identify cost reductions and efficiency improvements. Work will involve developing current-state flow diagrams, collaborating with project engineers, and beginning implementation of improvements.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Prior internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Experience with data analysis and process improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth studies on assigned processes to understand current state workflow, requirements, procedures, and specifications.
• Develop flow diagrams for current state processes, movement, and documentation.
• Provide recommendations to reduce costs, improve efficiency, manage resources, and opportunities for automation.
• Begin implementation process of recommended improvements.
• Collaborate with project engineers and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
