Job summary

Shultz Steel Company is seeking a Heat Treatment Operator to oversee the heat treatment processes for open and closed die forgings and related in-house conversions, with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities include loading furnaces, verifying counts and tolerances, performing straightening, and supervising furnace startup and monitoring. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, or 3–5 years of related experience, with strong math and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor heat treat furnaces and their limits/capabilities.
• Prepare furnace loads based on material type/quantity.
• Verify piece count, straightness and flatness before/after heat treatment.
• Perform cold and hot straightening as needed.
• Conduct hardness inspections of material.
• Oversee furnace light up and monitoring.
