MNP in Utica, MI is seeking a Heat Treat Furnace Operator to run and maintain the heat treating furnace for steel fasteners. You will ensure safe operation, monitor temperature controls, and work with a small team in a fast-paced setting.
Shifts are 12 hours, rotating weekly (Week 1 and Week 2) across day and night coverage. Previous heat treat experience is preferred; you should be reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to read technical documents and blueprints.
Job Schedule: Shift 1 - 5AM to 5PM; Shift 2: 5PM to 5AM
12 hours shifts; rotates between Week 1 and Week 2
Week 1: works Mon & Tues, Fri, & Sat = 48 hours
Week 2: works Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday = 36 hours

The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners manufactured by MNP. This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self‑motivated and dependable.
