Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian - UPMC invites applications for a Heart Transplant Fellowship in Pennsylvania. The fellowship provides advanced training across two high-volume transplant services, with graded independence under the heart and lung division co-chiefs in a rotation-based structure.

Qualifications

• Experience in heart transplantation or associated cardiothoracic procedures.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to teaching and academic medicine.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of heart and lung transplant inpatients, including pre-, intra-, and postoperative care, ICU rounding, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with transplant cardiology, pulmonology, advanced heart and lung failure teams, ECMO/VAD services, infectious diseases, pharmacy, PT/OT, social work, and care management.
• Participate in organ offers/list management, selection conferences, operative planning, and OR participation for transplant and related procedures.
• Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the transplant programs.
• Participate in call as assigned.
