Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Heart Team at Olathe Hospital. This full-time role supports the surgical team by preparing the OR, assisting during procedures, and maintaining sterile technique.

Under guidance of the RN and Nurse Manager, the technologist ensures readiness of instruments, supplies, and equipment, and participates in patient care and safety throughout the operation.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate or Associate's Surgical Tech degree OR 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in lieu of the certificate or degree requirement.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Respirator Fit Test - The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS) upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures and ensures equipment is functioning safely.
• Provides surgical assistance and maintains sterile field during procedures.
• Performs counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and supplies with a registered nurse circulator.
• Maintains sterility and safety and supports team performance.
