Job summary

You will organize instruments, maintain asepsis, and adapt to changing patient needs. A high school diploma, BLS, and OR orientation are required, with three years scrub experience or a CAAHEP-certified program.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of: accredited surgical technology program, military training as surgical corpsman/medic, or 3+ years scrub experience.
• Current BLS certification; OR department orientation and skills competency evaluation.
• Physical stamina to stand long hours, wear protective gear, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for a wide variety of procedures.
• Ensure a sterile environment and uphold principles of surgical asepsis.
• Work with surgeons and the team, anticipating needs and responding during procedures.
• Mentor surgical technologists new to the OR or orientation.
