Job summary

Olathe Health seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist at Olathe Hospital to support the surgical team in a part-time capacity. You will prepare the OR, assist with procedures, and ensure sterile technique and patient safety throughout each case.

Responsibilities include passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, assisting with positioning and dressings, and performing instrument/sponges counts with the RN circulator. BLS and respirator fit testing are required on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate or Associate’s Surgical Tech degree OR 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in lieu of the certificate or degree requirement.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room and ensures equipment is functioning and sterile.
• Provides surgical assistance and passes instruments to the surgeon.
• Maintains sterile field and adheres to sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Assists with patient positioning and applies sterile dressings post-op.
• Performs counts of instruments, sponges, needles and supplies with RN circulator.
• Complies with safety, quality and teamwork standards.

Education
