Job summary

MercyOne Iowa Heart Center Des Moines is seeking an RN Navigator: Heart Failure to coordinate and provide care for cardiothoracic surgery patients on the MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center campus. The navigator will assist with pre-operative testing, scheduling, and overall care optimization.

The ideal candidate will hold an Iowa RN license, have BSN preferred, 4 years in the specialty, and demonstrate leadership; BLS certification and Mandatory Reporter training within specified timelines are

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in cardiothoracic or related specialty.
• Mandatory Reporter – Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training due within 3 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 weeks.
• Evidence of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide care for cardiothoracic surgery patients.
• Assist with pre-operative testing and OR scheduling.
• Educate patients and families on care plans.
• Collaborate with health care teams to ensure integrated patient care.
• Act as liaison among patients, families, providers and staff.
