Job summary

Fortell is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide hands-on support to electrical and mechanical engineering teams in our New York City office. The role requires soldering of wires, small-device handling, and mechanical assembly within a fast-moving startup.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience, can work independently, and collaborates effectively to help validate devices and develop test methods.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on soldering experience with wires (not SMT).
• Ability to work with small devices and components.
• Proficient with basic hand tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a fast-paced startup.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with hands-on tasks on hearing aid devices.
• Build, modify, and rework devices and components.
• Perform soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
• Test, troubleshoot, and validate devices.
• Support development of test equipment and test plans.
• Assemble production devices as needed.
• Support documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
