Job summary

Leidos seeks a Research Assistant to join NSMRL in Groton, CT, contributing to studies on hearing health and performance of Naval personnel. You will support PI-led research, plan protocols, recruit subjects, and help analyze data using audiology equipment.

Ideal candidates hold a related Bachelor's degree, demonstrate research methods experience, and communicate effectively with diverse teams. Clearance readiness and US citizenship are preferred for government work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to hearing science, acoustics, physics, or life sciences.
• Documented evidence of research methods experience (Bachelor's thesis or coursework).
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and assist Principal Investigator (PI) at NSMRL in planning, data collection, and data analysis.
• Plan scientific protocols and set up experimental equipment.
• Develop protocols for executing required human research.
• Assist with audiology research using devices to study hearing protection and communication systems.
• Set up, test, and troubleshoot experimental equipment.
• Recruit research subjects and coordinate with participants and staff.
• Communicate with audiologists and researchers to stay current with technology and collaborations.
• Prepare and present reports and documents as directed.
• Follow scientific review board and institution procedures.
• Support budget development and coordinate with acquisition for contracts.
• Provide other research-related support as needed.
