Job summary

Leidos seeks a Research Assistant to join the Naval Submarine Research Laboratory (NSMRL) in Groton, CT. You will conduct research studies on hearing health and performance of Naval personnel, and assist in data collection and analysis in operational and non-operational settings.

Responsibilities include protocol development, experimental setup, subject recruitment, budgeting support, and interdepartmental collaboration with audiologists and researchers.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in hearing science, acoustics, physics or life sciences.
• Evidence of research methods experience (thesis or coursework).
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Eligibility to obtain SECRET clearance; US citizenship required.
• HIPAA/PHI/PII familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and assist NSMRL Principal Investigator in planning, data collection and analysis.
• Plan scientific protocols and prepare/setup experimental equipment.
• Develop protocols for required human research.
• Assist with audiology research and hearing protection studies.
• Set up, test, and troubleshoot experimental apparatus.
• Recruit subjects and coordinate with research personnel.
• Communicate with external audiologists and researchers for collaboration.
• Prepare reports, presentations and documents as directed.
• Adhere to SRRB/IRB procedures.
• Assist in budget tracking and coordinate with acquisition for contracts.
• Provide other research-related support as needed
