  • Review exhibits and prepare for hearing by addressing pertinent issues.
  • Prepare written decisions or orders applying the law and precedents.
  • Study precedent decisions to inform decisions.

What you will do:
  • Conduct quasi-judicial hearings with interested parties and their counsel: place witnesses under oath, question witnesses to ascertain pertinent facts, see that hearings are properly recorded, admit or exclude evidence, and facilitate the cross-examination of witnesses.
  • Prior to hearing, review the Division exhibits and documentation submitted by the parties and make necessary preparations to address the issues pertinent to the hearing.
  • Prepare written decisions, or orders, applying pertinent provisions of the law and following established precedents.
  • Study precedent decisions in similar cases as a guide for making decisions.
