Job summary

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) in Rochester, NY, is hiring an Eligibility Determination Specialist for the HEAP program. You will evaluate applications, interview clients, collect income data, and determine eligibility in a trauma-informed environment.

This full-time role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a collaborative office setting. A competitive benefits package is provided and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in business, accounting, finance or related area.
• First Aid and CPR within 90 days after hire and recertified every two years as needed.
• 1 year experience in working within program guidelines. Strong verbal, written and telephone communication skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs Evaluation eligibility and applications services to applicants for HEAP.
• Interviews clients in person or by phone to obtain housing, demographic and income information.
• Assists individuals in providing required documentation to conduct accurate eligibility determinations.
• Responds to heating and utility emergency situations.
• Performs data-entry functions.
• Assists with Outreach and Publicity for the program in partnership with DHS.
• Collaborates with team to ensure tidiness of the office and follows COVID guidelines.
