Job summary

Indiana University is seeking a Healthy Hoosier Communities Liaison (HHCL) to connect IU with rural communities across Indiana. The role supports community-engaged projects, coordinates activities, tracks metrics, and reports outcomes while working with CRE leadership to foster partnerships.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years in outreach, engagement, or public relations, plus travel within the state and nationally for conferences.

Responsibilities

• Communicates frequently with community leaders and project leads to ensure needs are heard and met by CRE initiatives.
• Facilitates information sessions and health fairs; coordinates and participates in community-initiated health fairs.
• Leads on Sustaining Hoosier Communities health-related projects and manages up to 3 Rural Scholars.
• Generates scopes of work for community partners and communicates plans and expectations.
• Reports to the Director of Student Engagement.
• Builds and maintains relationships with community partners, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
• Collaborates with IU units to advance health-related projects and strengthen campus-community partnerships.
• Facilitates community projects, develops scopes of work, supports SHC program, supervises Rural Scholars, shares successes with communications.
