Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking a part-time, non-benefitted Workforce Instructional Career Coach to support RSVP healthcare credential programs. The role embeds workplace readiness, employability skills, and digital literacy into credential training, working with TJACE staff to promote persistence and credential attainment.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching, training, facilitation, career coaching, workforce development, instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field.
• Ability to facilitate engaging, learner-centered experiences for adult learners.
• Knowledge of digital literacy, workplace readiness, employability skills, and career development competencies.
• Ability to collaborate with instructors, SMEs, career coaches, program managers, and workforce staff.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with instructional technologies and learning management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide contextualized workplace-readiness and employability instruction within RSVP healthcare credential programs.
• Collaborate with TJACE Career Coach, Healthcare Instructor, and FastForward Career Coach to assess readiness and plan strategies.
• Embed relevant readiness skills into curricula and develop lesson plans and activities.
• Support instructors in teaching and assessing readiness skills within technical instruction.
• Develop assessment strategies to measure readiness and skill attainment.
• Organize and maintain integrated instructional materials within Canvas.
• Coordinate with FastForward Career Coach to align instruction with career coaching and services.
• Use assessment results to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.
• Maintain documentation and participate in program planning and evaluation.
