Job summary

NFLsurgeons in Destin, FL is seeking a Healthcare Support Specialist to be a primary contact in the medical office. You will coordinate patient care, liaise with patients, staff and providers, and help manage schedules and payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior scheduling experience in a medical office is preferred (6 months+).
• Athena EHR experience is preferred.
• Experience in Orthopedics or Pain Management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and greets patients and visitors in person or by phone.
• Registers walk-in new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed information.
• Checks patients in through intake and notifies provider of arrival to facilitate flow.
• Schedules in-house MRIs and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules future patient appointments.
• Collects copays and reconciles payments in daily batch ledger.
• Verifies insurance and Preps clinic schedules.
• Responds to inquiries courteously from patients and visitors.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and protects rights.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcomesandgreetsall patients and visitors, in person or over the phone.
• Registerswalk-innew patients and updatesand verifiesexisting patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information, including personal and insurance or financial information.
• Checkspatients inthroughintakefacilitatingpatient flow by notifying the provider of the patient’s arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
• Schedulesin houseMRI’sandreferrals.
• Scheduling andrescheduling offuture patientappointments.
• Collectingpatientcopays,coinsurances,and allowablepayments andreconcilingthese paymentsat the end of each dayin your daily batch ledger.
• Verifying Insurance
• PreppingClinicSchedules
• Responds to patients, prospective patients, and visitors' inquiries courteously.
• Protects patients’ rights bymaintainingconfidentiality of personal and financial information.
