Job summary

Advocate Health’s Summer Internship Program offers a seven-week, on-site learning experience for high school students aged 16+. Interns work up to 24 hours per week (Monday–Friday) and participate in professional development and networking events throughout the summer.

Interns rotate through or support various departments to gain exposure to clinical, administrative, operational and support functions, developing foundational workplace and professional skills under hospital supervision.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in high school and aged 16+ prior to start.
• Interest in exploring health care careers.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured, hands-on learning experiences introducing high school students to healthcare careers.
• Observe and rotate through departments to gain exposure to clinical, administrative, operational and support functions.
• Engage in educational activities, observational experiences and assigned projects under supervision.
