Job summary

MercyOne, part of Trinity Health, seeks a Chief Strategy Officer to lead strategic planning, business development and population health across the network. The CSO will report to the MercyOne CEO and work with Trinity Health teams to align regional goals with the system’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field required.
• Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• 10–15 years of related business experience in corporate development, consulting, strategic planning or financial planning, preferably in healthcare.
• Multi-hospital experience and experience with medical group or health insurance strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare environment and issues related to hospitals and physician alignment.
• Strong management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO of MercyOne to oversee strategic planning and ensure alignment with Trinity Health strategy.
• Lead efforts to create an integrated delivery system and realize market consolidation opportunities.
• Develop ambulatory, post-acute, retail and on-line health services to capture revenues in non-hospital settings.
• Develop strategy and business plans in line with Mission and Strategic Plan; pursue ventures and market growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with planning, M&A and partnerships teams on transactions; address community healthcare needs.
