Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to ensure proper staffing patterns for a facility, conduct initial interviews, perform reference checks, and schedule staff across 24-hour operations. This role also delivers in-services and clinical education to staff and may participate in orientation and EMR training.

Ideal candidates will have LVN licensure preferred, strong English communication, and proficiency with Excel and EMR systems to support staffing decisions and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Prefer current licensed LVN in applicable state.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience staffing in a 24-hour operations healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Proficient in Microsoft office products, including Excel.
• Experience in interviewing and hiring nursing department personnel.
• Experience utilizing electronic medical records system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly schedules for all nursing departments and post at 6-week intervals.
• Prepare daily sign-in sheets two weeks in advance.
• Monitor daily staffing per PPD and census to minimize overtime.
• Report staffing challenges to the DON immediately.
• Maintain attendance records and discipline for attendance issues.
• Maintain open positions and applicant tracking logs.
• May perform initial interviews for nursing staff.
• Complete reference checks.
• May perform orientation for Nursing staff including EMR training.
• Support Nurse Manager as Super User in EMR.
• May initiate TB/HBV health requirements.
• Communicate effectively with staff.
• Report daily staffing patterns to DON/designee.
• Maintain current phone list of nursing personnel.
• Accept staffing calls while on duty with Nurse Manager to fill vacancies.
• May conduct staff education per education calendar.
• Function as a role model supporting facility mission.
• Ensure patient/resident safety.
• Other duties as assigned.
