Job summary

Brookhaven Health Care Facility in East Patchogue, NY is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to manage nursing schedules and attendance records, ensuring 24-hour staffing coverage. The role requires strong organizational skills and experience with UKG or similar systems.

You will coordinate staffing resources, process time-off requests, and collaborate with Nursing, HR, and Payroll to maintain accurate schedules and payroll documentation. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 6 months of experience in a nursing position and prior scheduling/staffing experience in a healthcare facility; 1 year preferred.
• CNA, LPN, or RN license required.
• Experience with staffing, scheduling, payroll/timekeeping systems including UKG.
• Strong organizational, time management and scheduling skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, coordinate, post, and manage nursing department schedules to ensure 24-hour staffing coverage.
• Utilize staffing resources including regular staff, overtime, pools, and agency personnel per requirements and labor agreements.
• Process staff schedule requests and time-off requests before finalizing schedules.
• Submit staffing requests to staffing pools and assist in securing coverage for open shifts.
• Maintain and update the master staffing schedule and daily staffing records.
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules for call-offs, no-shows, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, and terminations.
• Communicate vacancies, agency usage, and staffing concerns to nursing leadership and administration.
