Job summary

Independent Living Systems (ILS) is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering in Miami to lead a team delivering secure, scalable software for health services. You will mentor engineers and partner with product, QA, and clinical stakeholders to align technology with regulatory requirements.

You will drive Agile and DevOps practices, oversee the SDLC, manage resources and risks, and promote continuous improvement to improve health outcomes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years managing software engineering teams in a regulated industry.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and secure software practices.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers to deliver scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, clinical stakeholders, and other departments to define project requirements and timelines.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and maintain high standards for data security and member privacy.
• Implement and promote best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• Manage resource allocation, project prioritization, and risk mitigation to meet delivery deadlines.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages professional development and knowledge sharing.
