Job summary

Galen College of Nursing is seeking a Simulation Technician to support and enhance simulation experiences across programs, collaborating with faculty to ensure CSLO achievement. The role requires setting up and operating AV/IT systems and simulation devices, plus maintaining equipment documentation.

You will prepare environments to reflect clinical settings, create moulage, and assist learners with instructional media, while ensuring safety and adherence to policies in a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Minimum technical diploma or associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Affinity for a technical role (IT, A/V, Electronics/Computer building).
• Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology or enrollment in course after hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate working knowledge of a range of common audio-visual and IT hardware and software.
• Provide general technical support and troubleshooting for the audio-visual and IT system.
• Set up, operate, and store audiovisual and IT equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and effective operation of the audio-visual system and simulation equipment.
• Set up, operate, store, maintain, update, and repair simulators and other simulation equipment.
• Provide general support and troubleshooting for simulation equipment.
• Support Simulation Center users in the use of instructional media and equipment.
• Maintain simulation equipment documentation.
• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Support all aspects of the learning environment.
• Prepare the simulation environment to represent the clinical setting.
• Create moulage to model physiologic responses to scenarios.
• Maintain stock control and ensure consumables and equipment are adequate and secure.
• Keep preparation and storage areas clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations.
