This on-site role requires Florida security licensure and relevant certifications; experience in healthcare security is preferred. The position emphasizes accountability and operational readiness across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Training in supervision, incident command, and documentation preferred.
• 4+ years in security/public safety experience required.
• 1+ year supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• Must hold Florida Class D Security Officer License.
• Must obtain CPI Certification.
• IAHSS Basic Certification or higher; Supervisor certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Security Officers on assigned shifts and coordinates post assignments.
• Maintains order and security within assigned areas, including in the absence of the shift Captain.
• Assists with training of new officers and ongoing training of current officers.
• Supports emergency drills and incident command during critical incidents.
• Responds to incidents with notification, scene control, and documentation.
• Communicates patient and non-patient needs to Security team and hospital staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
• Performs shift briefings and ensures officers are prepared.
• Back-up Department timekeeper responsibilities as needed.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Aids in policy reviews and operational improvements.
• Interacts calmly with patients, visitors, and staff under stress.
