The role requires completing IAHSS exams (Basic/Advanced/Supervisor) within specified timelines, maintaining BLS, and participating in Defensive Tactics training. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• IAHSS Basic, Advanced and Supervisor exams completed within specified timeframes.
• Current Basic Life Support certification within 9 months of hire.
• Defensive Tactics in Healthcare training within 180 days of hire.
• Interpersonal and writing skills required for reports and communication.
• Physical ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Communicates regularly with other shift leadership regarding security needs.
• Disseminates pertinent information to assigned subordinate Security team members.
• Identifies opportunities and actions for safety and security improvements on shift.
• Oversees campus-specific Video Management and Access Control systems.
• Maintains knowledge of industry standards and healthcare security trends.
• Completes shift records, reports and handoffs.
• Collaborates with support services to maintain a safe environment.
• Leads and develops shift teams; ensures patient and staff safety.
