Job summary

WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV seeks a Security Officer to maintain daily security presence across facilities, assist patients and staff, and enforce safety protocols. You will respond to information requests, provide transportation and escort services, monitor traffic, and help prevent incidents in line with WVU policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and security certifications such as BLS/Heartsaver, taser, OC spray, and AVADE levels I-III.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in the Security field.
• Three (3) years of experience in Healthcare Security.
• Taser, handcuffing, OC spray and AVADE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility at locations to provide information and directions.
• Respond to requests for information or assistance in a courteous manner.
• Provide transport and escort services for patients, visitors and staff.
• Monitor parking areas, issue permits and report violations.
• Protect people and property per policy and procedure; assist in incident reduction.
• Complete routine building rounds and perform safety-related tasks.
