Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks a Security Officer to provide information, safety, and security services across assigned locations. You will support patients, visitors and staff by offering assistance, directions and access control while enforcing WVU Medicine policies.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain BLS or HeartSaver First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year security experience OR an Associate’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, forensics, law or related field.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Obtain certification in BLS or HeartSaver First Aid within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility at locations to provide information and resources for patients, visitors and staff.
• Respond to information/assistance requests in a caring, courteous manner.
• Provide transport, wheelchair assistance, escorts and access for patients, visitors and staff.
