Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking a security officer to maintain a secure environment at CP M C- California Pacific Med Center - Mission Bernal. You will patrol the premises, manage access, respond to incidents, and coordinate with staff and law enforcement as needed.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and PSO certification, with about one year of relevant experience. Daily shifts include days, with 40 hours per week and weekend work in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of the usual duty requirements of a security officer with an emphasis on the physical and emotional maturity required for the high degree of judgment and diplomacy necessary to work efficiently in a healthcare environment.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to write incident reports and read business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Patrol facility premises to ensure safety and security.
• Monitor and report suspicious or unsafe conditions.
• Manage access control and keys; respond to alarms.
• Provide assistance and security services to staff, physicians, patients and visitors.
• Investigate and document incidents; liaise with local law enforcement as needed.
