Job summary

Valley Children’s Healthcare seeks a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and families at the hospital campus in California. The role includes health screening, visitor management, and strong customer service. Day shifts, 100% FTE, 40 hours/week.

Requires a High School Diploma, California BSIS Guard Card, BLS within 30 days, and a California driver's license; six months in security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Availability to work any assigned shift.
• Must read, write and follow verbal and written English instructions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to communicate with security peers, hospital staff, patients, visitors and law enforcement.
• Able to work collaboratively or independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Able to run short to medium distances in emergent situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, physicians, patients, visitors and contractors/vendors.
• Complete visitor health screening and entry procedures.
• Provide relief dispatch coverage and operate video surveillance equipment.
• Assist in enforcing visitor management and identify safety hazards.
