Job summary

Mayo Clinic seeks a Security Officer I to provide professional security, customer service and safety across our Phoenix campus. You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents and help maintain a secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include incident reporting, emergency evacuations support, and effective communication via radio. Onboarding includes training in Basic Life Support, Stop The Bleed and IAHSS certification within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Minimum two years of experience in a customer service, military, security position and/or similar role.
• Associate's degree in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, security or related field preferred; healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software applications.
• Ability to work independently and act decisively under difficult circumstances.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to recognize health conditions and injuries and apply first aid/Life support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; positive interaction with patients, visitors and employees.
• Must meet driving record requirements and obtain IAHSS certification within six months.
• Must complete Basic Life Support and Stop The Bleed training within six months.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol Mayo Clinic property to deter crime and undesirable behaviors.
• Respond to security incidents to ensure safety and enforce Mayo policies.
• Prepare accurate and timely incident reports.
• Assist patients, volunteers, visitors, and staff with emergency evacuations.
• Operate two-way radio and related security technology; communicate effectively.
