Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Security Officer for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital site. You will protect people and property, patrol facilities, and respond to emergencies across hospital campuses.

The role requires strong customer service, clear reporting, and the ability to handle crisis situations. A high school diploma is required, with relevant security experience and MA driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; higher education in criminal justice preferred.
• 1–3 years of security or related experience preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass criminal background checks (initial and annual).
• Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, Narcan, De-Escalation training, IAHS Basic Officer Certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection to people and property through patrol, investigation, monitoring alarms and surveillance cameras.
• Patrol buildings and grounds to identify unsafe conditions and secured areas to prevent theft, injuries or damages.
• Deliver high level customer service by interacting with patients, visitors and staff in a professional and helpful manner.
• Provide emergency response to a variety of situations.
• Conduct preliminary investigations into thefts, shortages and complaints; detain suspects when necessary.
• Provide escorts for staff, visitors and patients as requested and maintain accountability for valuables and evidence.
• Prepare and submit written reports; log all incidents accurately.
• May be assigned to bike patrol or community liaison duties; may work at off-site locations.
