Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks a Security Officer responsible for protecting patients, guests and staff. You will enforce policies, perform inspections and respond to emergencies, while maintaining courteous and professional conduct.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of security, law enforcement, or military experience, and certifications such as BLS, CPI, and an active driver's license.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Required certifications (BLS, CPI, etc.) and a valid driver’s license.
• IAHSS certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the FTO program within first 60 days

Responsibilities

• Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
• Investigates accidents and other incidents and reports occurrences in a timely manner.
• Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security duties as assigned.
• Participates in emergency response and related drills.
• Maintains required annual certifications and completes training within required time periods.
• Adapts behavior to the patient population, including privacy respect, introductions, explanations, permissions and communication style.
• Other related duties as required.
