Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking a Security professional to safeguard patients, guests, and staff. You will enforce safety rules, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and support emergency preparedness across multiple facilities.

The role requires a High School diploma, 1 year in security or related fields, and applicable certifications (BLS, CPI, and IAHSS). You will participate in disaster drills and maintain ongoing training commitments at Ochsner Health.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• IAHSS Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
• Investigates accidents and other incidents which are assigned and reports all occurrences in a timely manner.
• Performs opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration and performs other safety and security related duties as assigned.
• Participates in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
• Maintains required annual certifications and completes training requirements within required time periods.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Other related duties as required.
