Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Security Officer Lead to serve as a bridge between frontline security and administrative management. You will be the primary contact for law enforcement and facility safety, helping advance humankindness values while supporting strategic goals.

You will manage shift staffing, document all incidents, and balance hands-on security with administrative oversight to maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors at St. Mary-Corwin in Pueblo, Colorado.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of security officer experience in healthcare, or one year in security.
• Current state driver’s license with satisfactory status; DMV report if requested.
• State guard card/license where required; BLS certification within 90 days.
• Knowledge of security duties, de-escalation techniques, and equipment use.
• English fluency and clear oral/written communication.
• Complete IC 100HCb, 200b & 700a training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Services and ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations.
• Assess incident impact and communicate actions to maximize security response.
• Assist with security procedures and recommendations to improve safety and operations.
• Plan and direct work assignments; train security staff as needed.
• Ensure shift officers meet program standards, including grooming and uniforms.
• Prepare shift paperwork and provide ongoing security orientation and training; may serve as Field Training Officer.
