Job summary

The Security Officer at CommonSpirit Health is tasked with maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors at our California facilities in Long Beach. You will respond to incidents, patrol grounds, monitor alarms, and document all events with accurate reports in a timely manner.

Qualified candidates have at least 6 months in security, a high school diploma, IAHSS basic training within 90 days, CPR within 60 days, and clear English communication.

Qualifications

• Six months of Security Officer experience with extensive public contact.
• High School Diploma is required.
• IAHSS Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer within 90 days of hire.
• CPR Training within 60 days of hire.
• Clear oral and written communication skills in English.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory DMV record or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
• State Security Officer License if applicable with no disciplinary actions.
• Workplace violence training annually.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients and visitors by responding promptly to calls for assistance and emergencies.
• Patrol facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor alarms and dispatch officers as needed.
• Know emergency procedures, reportHIPAA concerns, investigate breaches, and write incident reports.
• Log daily activities and complete clear, concise reports in a timely manner.
