Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage patient and physician office scheduling across departments, ensuring efficient use of resources and high-quality care. You will coordinate appointments, procedures, and follow-ups, and serve as the liaison between patients, medical staff, and administrative teams.

The role requires attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency with EMR systems and scheduling software.

Formación

• Associate degree or related certification preferred.
• 0–2 years in medical scheduling, front desk, or admin support.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and scheduling software is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Schedule patient appointments for consultations, tests, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Notify patients of confirmations, cancellations, or reschedules with clear instructions.
• Enter and update patient information in EHR/scheduling systems accurately.
• Coordinate with medical staff to align appointments with priorities and capacity.
• Track cancellations/no-shows and reschedule promptly.
• Provide general admin support and manage patient referrals and files.
• Review orders for validity and completeness.
• Ask patients the necessary questions for tests and prepare instructions.
• Prioritize work and process STAT orders timely.
• Communicate with ordering offices if scheduling is not possible.
• Offer alternative scheduling options to accommodate needs.
• Maintain reliable attendance and comply with policies.
