Job summary

TexomaCare in Denison, Texas seeks a Referral Specialist to schedule referrals for patients, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate tests with facilities as requested by providers. You will directly communicate with clinics and patients, review data to report medical necessity to insurers, and work within the practice mission and values.

The role requires strong interpersonal and administrative skills, with experience in healthcare settings and proficiency in Microsoft Office and 10-key

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical terminology, insurance billing, and HIPAA privacy standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule referrals for patients and providers; pre-authorize and pre-cert tests/procedures.
• Coordinate scheduling of tests with facilities at provider/staff request; communicate with clinics and patients.
• Review clinical data to report medical necessity to insurance companies; follow practice mission and values.
