Job summary

Shield HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Agent for our Valencia, CA office to coordinate procurement activities for the organization. The role focuses on requisition reviews, vendor negotiations, PO creation, and inventory optimization to ensure timely, cost-effective supply delivery.

Qualified candidates have at least 5 years in purchasing, strong Excel and data entry skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• 5 years purchasing experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Multi-task ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
• Inventory management experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions.
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Prepares purchase orders.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Expedites delivery of goods to users.
• Creates and distributes manufacturer backorder report.
• Inventory adjustments and investigation/resolution of discrepancies.
• Processing of backorders for shipment upon receipt.
• Analysis and maintenance of reorder parameters.
• Expediting and backorder prevention reports.
• Review and resolution of slow turning inventory.
• Regularly scheduled replenishments.
• Conduct periodic location verification.
• Review/evaluate/maintain automated inventory reorder parameters.
• Miscellaneous projects as assigned by supervisor.
