Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Practice Manager to lead operations across one or more practice sites, aligning with the organization’s mission, ethics, and compliance framework.

You will supervise clinical and administrative staff, recruit and train, manage scheduling and resources to maximize patient access and provider productivity, handle budgeting, purchasing, cash management, and data reporting, and partner with the Central Office and committees to drive efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2 years health care experience.
• Experience working within a clinical environment.
• Outpatient setting experience.
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage front-line non-exempt staff including interviewing, hiring, training, progressive discipline, dismissals, performance appraisals, and employee relations.
• Schedule staff and allocate resources across hours of operation to maximize patient access and satisfaction, provider productivity and efficiency.
• Conduct supply purchasing within budget using the Group’s online system.
• Report monthly productivity results to providers and staff.
• Ensure accuracy of data collection and data entry by site staff and coordinate with the Central Office.
• Oversee cash management duties including co-pays, balances and deposits to influence profitability.
• Participate in corporate committees and task forces.
• Provide financial analysis to facilitate planning and cash flow management and review variance explanations.
• Communicate budget and variance information to professional staff.
• Identify training opportunities by understanding job functions.
• Set priorities and timelines to ensure efficient resource use and a productive environment.
• Work with senior management to define performance goals and provide ongoing feedback.
