Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the Payroll Department in Maryland. This role oversees bi-weekly payroll for 6,500+ employees, supervises staff, and coordinates with Workday, UKG, and ADP to ensure accurate tax filings and compliance.

The candidate will implement internal controls and support system releases. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of payroll experience, including supervisory roles, and is skilled in Workday and multi-state payroll regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 5+ years payroll experience with 2+ years in supervision.
• Hands-on Workday payroll processing experience.
• Experience with UKG Kronos/Dimensions and integrating time data into payroll.
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations and FLSA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing for 6,500+ employees.
• Supervise, train, and develop payroll staff.
• Coordinate between Workday and UKG for data integrity.
• Coordinate with ADP for tax filings and compliance reporting.
• Review off-cycle payments, adjustments, and manual checks.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies including tax questions and garnishments.
• Work with HR/Benefits/UKG to ensure timely data changes for payroll.
• Maintain internal controls and audit readiness.
