Job summary

Buchalter LLP is seeking an experienced Healthcare Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Los Angeles, Sacramento, or Irvine offices. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate.

Responsibilities include managing case files, complex Excel data, discovery, and trial preparation. Proficiency with Relativity, RelOne, Lexis/Westlaw tools, and PowerPoint is required; trial experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• ABA-approved paralegal certificate or attorney declaration under the BPC 6450.
• Minimum of 5 years as a litigation paralegal.
• Thorough knowledge of Federal and State court Rules and Procedures.
• Thorough and advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Familiarity with Relativity, RelOne, Adobe Acrobat, Lexis CaseNotebook, Westlaw/Lexis.
• Knowledge of PowerPoint.
• Trial experience is a plus.
• Strong proofreading and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to strategize and manage case workflows.
• Interest in Health Care Law is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in the Healthcare Litigation Department under minimal supervision.
• Review patient medical and billing claim files and revenue cycle reports.
• Work with large Excel spreadsheets; create pivot tables and formulas.
• Develop and carry out case management strategies, including discovery and trial prep.
• Identify and prepare expert witnesses; coordinate with clients, witnesses, and counsel.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate time records for billing.
• Continuously learn and apply software to improve litigation management and client service.
