Job summary

Arnall Golden Gregory LLP in Washington, DC is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support Healthcare and Litigation practice groups on complex client matters.

Responsibilities include gathering and organizing factual information, preparing pleadings, managing discovery, filing with the court, and coordinating witnesses. Requirements include 3+ years of paralegal experience in litigation, preferably with healthcare exposure, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ paralegal experience in litigation.
• Experience with pre-trial and trial support.
• Healthcare litigation exposure is a plus.
• Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, organizes and maintains factual information and documents in accordance with correct legal practice and procedure.
• Prepares pleadings, drafts interrogatories, and answers interrogatories and responds to requests to produce documents under the supervision of the assigned attorney.
• Manages, records and organizes all discovery and trial data, and prepares and maintains trial notebook.
• Files pleadings, motions, documents with the court as directed by supervising attorney.
• Summarizes testimony and transcripts.
• Assists in locating and preparing witnesses for trial; coordinates witnesses’ appearance at trial.
• Assists in drafting releases and motions.
• Develop a knowledge of laws, regulations, rules and procedures in specific areas of law.
• Maintains and updates database of expert witnesses.
• Develops and maintains a working relationship with clients to gather facts and support litigation.
• Travel as needed to conduct witness interviews and to hearings.
• Attend weekly meetings and Bates labeling.
• Overtime may be required on occasion.
• Other duties/tasks as assigned.
